"TUTTO PASSA FT. MARADONA"
Ciro Pipoli’s shot came about in a very casual and spontaneous way. On that day, he went to the seafront of his city, Naples. While he was photographing, the gentleman you see in the photo, Mr. Antonio, approached him. Ciro had known Antonio for a few years, and after greeting each other, he asked if it would be possible to photograph him wearing a hat. Antonio thought it would be a good idea to sit under a Maradona mural for the photo.
After Ciro posted the photo on social media, he immediately received many compliments. Reflecting on it, he finds it surprising that the image went viral. It is a very simple shot, yet there are so many elements that make it significant. The contrast of the phrase “not from Paris” set in Naples, the phrase “everything passes” tattooed on the chest of an elderly gentleman, and the image of Maradona all contribute to the meaningfulness of the photograph.
